Common Canine Concerns We Can Help With
When we say any size, any breed, any issue, we mean it! With our Consultations, we come to you so we can observe your dog’s behaviors in their natural environment and how you react to them. There’s very rarely ever been an instance where our curriculum couldn’t turn the canine chaos into canine calm!
Basic Manners
Separation Anxiety
Does your dog act on their worst behavior when you’re not around? Barking, howling, urinating, defecating, chewing, digging, escaping, pacing, and other frustrating and destructing behaviors are all signs of separation anxiety. Separation anxiety could also be their inability to let you have your space! Do they follow you from room-to-room or refuse to be anywhere but on top of you? Our curriculum can help you address those problems so you both can live comfortably together and apart.
Leash Pulling
It’s understandable that your dog is excited to be exploring the world with you, but you’ve heard the saying, “are you walking your dog or is your dog walking you!?” Leash pulling is one of the most common problems we help our students manage. Dogs naturally lead with their noses, and your dog may even react crazily to other dogs or people out on your walks, and that can lead to chaos! Reyes K-9 Academy will equip you with the skills to handle your dog effectively, no matter what situation arises when you’re out and about. Along those lines, Phoenix area has gorgeous weather most of the year, and is therefore one of the country’s best places to have a canine companion. Proper leash control in public settings are actually a part of our course curriculum!
Aggression
Dog aggression is a very concerning problem dog owners face and leaves many wondering if they can even keep their dog in their home. When dogs display signs of aggression toward humans, other dogs, or other pets, such as growling, barking, snarling, lunging, snapping, or biting, it can definitely be scary and worrisome! Our curriculum is based on the psychology of dogs, and that’s essential to understanding where your dog’s aggression is coming from and how to best handle it. We literally come prepped for “the worst,” meaning, we are ready with protective gear to guard against dog bites in order to observe the negative behavior in action. We then work with you on understanding the motivation behind the improper behavior and how to correct it.
POTTY TRAINING
Off-Leash Behavior
There are many instances where you may want to have your dog off their leash, and you want to ensure that it’s a safe, enjoyable experience for both of you and others! Most places require dogs to be leashed, but if you love to camp, hike off-trail, or simply want to safely enjoy a dog park outing, we can work with you on how to control your dog without their leash so you can enjoy all sorts of amazing experiences together.
Happy Clients
Handsome Thor
“Amazing K9 instructor! Eric trains and educates the pet owners first, then works with your pet (real dog whisper). His detailed assessments differentiate between your dog running wild and being obedient. He has helped my wife, children, and I understand Handsome Thor (our dog) and the best ways to communicate and train him. I highly recommend his K9 services.

Luna
“We had the opportunity to work with Eric on our dachshund puppy. We learned so much in just a few sessions, and established good behaviors. We learned how to make sure she never tried to sneak out, and it has been an amazing puppy experience thanks to Eric. We will always work with Eric if we have any more dogs.”

FAQs
Is it possible there’s a dog that’s too aggressive for training? Will I have to put my dog down
It is possible, but not probable. We’ve very rarely encountered a dog we couldn’t handle or most importantly – teach an owner how to handle. But, it does happen, especially if a dog has shown severe aggression where they’ve attacked and drawn blood.
Can you help with multiple dogs in a house?
Yes! We charge by the session, not by the number of dogs! Whether it’s one dog or multiple, we’re here to help you become leader of the pack!
