Meet Eric Reyes
Reyes K-9 Academy is a Phoenix-based Dog Training Academy that turns Canine Owners into K-9 Handlers through Education and Training so that they can Proudly say, “My Dog Obeys”. We come directly to you for private, one-on-one in-house training sessions for you and your fur baby. It is our Passion to help create loving relationships between Dog Owners and their Canine Companions.

Our K-9 Instructor, Eric Reyes, has an extensive background in Canine Psychology, Dog Training and K-9 Handling having been formally trained in his field by the United States Marine Corps. During his time-of-service Eric was stationed at Marine Corps Base: Quantico, Virginia and was assigned to the Presidential Security Unit known as Marine One, The Helicopter Squadron, under George W. Bush. Erics Military Occupational Specialty was as a Military Police, Military Working Dog, Explosive Detector Dog Handler. Eric provided Explosive Detector Dog Security for the President, Secret Service, Department of State, White House Military Office, VIPs, Heads of State and various Joint Task Forces. Eric was Honorably Discharged from the United States Marine Corps with the rank of Sergeant in 2006.
His experience as a Military Working Dog Handler required extensive training, including months long Formal Education in classroom environments, understanding the psychology of dogs before he was even allowed to come into contact with actual canines. This background makes him extraordinarily qualified in handling any issues that dog owners are concerned about with their pups, which most other trainers can’t boast about.
On a personal level, Eric has always owned and loved a dog of his own. Anyone who meets him can quickly tell that his enthusiasm and love for what he does makes him an exceptionally gifted K-9 Instructor. His technique is the perfect blend of military-style toughness along with genuine care and compassion for both struggling dog owners and their canine counterparts.

What happens after the training? Is there follow-up?
Yes! We offer follow-up sessions once you have concluded one of our courses or curriculum! In fact, we would love to see both you and your dog again! Many students benefit from reinforcement of skills, and our follow-up sessions often focus on more advanced training, such as confidently venturing out into public like a restaurant or coffee shop with their perfectly obedient pup.
What parts of the Valley do you travel to?
We generally travel to anywhere in the greater Phoenix area, including areas like Peoria, Glendale, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Tempe, Mesa and the North Valley – in specific cases other options may be possible for an extra travel fee.
