Terms and Conditions

REYES K-9 ACADEMY cannot guarantee the Clients dog will maintain its new behavior and state of mind in the future even though the behavior was corrected and/or modified during training. Services are divided into four Categories: Training Sessions, Educational Lessons, Virtual Study Halls and Interactive Group Seminars.

FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS: Follow-Up Sessions are 90 (ninety) minutes in duration. A 90 (ninety) minute Follow-Up Session allows the Students to choose wherein their Canine Training they’d like to begin as well as setting the Goals for those Sessions. Follow-up Sessions can be either In-House or Online.
EDUCATIONAL LESSONS: There are Seven (90 minute) Educational Lessons that form the Educational Canine Curriculum that teaches the Basic Psychology behind the Clients Canine Counterpart while instilling the fundamental differences between Owning a dog vs. Handling a dog. These Seven Lessons: Establishing Control, Maintaining Control, Basic Obedience, Walking Heel, Extending the K-9 Bubble, Off Leash Transition and Off Leash Discipline are only available for purchase through one of our “Courses” or “Curriculum” bundles.
VIRTUAL STUDY HALLS: Virtual Study Halls are 45-60 minutes in duration, conducted online via “Zoom” and are meant to supplement Educational Lessons and Training Sessions. Virtual Study Halls are designed for students to ask questions about frustrations or clarity in training methods that may arise between Training Sessions and Educational Lessons.
INTERACTIVE GROUP SEMINARS WITH Q & A: Our 90-minute or 3-hour Educational Seminars are Interactive and Personalized. Every Seminar outlines the Topics the Client has Personally pre-selected for their Group as well as allowing for up to 4 dogs (in a 90-minute Seminar) or up to 8 dogs (in a 3 hour Seminar) to have their issues addressed on Stage with the Owner in a Group Setting. The Client Picks the Topics, Provides the Location and we bring the Education.

PAYMENT:

Payments can be made by cash, check and credit card. All Follow-up Sessions, Educational Lessons, Virtual Study Halls and Group Seminars must be prepaid before Services will begin. All “Packages”, “Courses” or “Curriculum” Bundles must:

Be Prepaid for in its entirety before Educational Lessons will begin.

Have the down-payment specific to the “Package”, “Course” or “Curriculum” paid for when taking advantage of the Reyes K-9 Academy (Tuition) Payment Plan.

TRAINING METHODS & TOOLS:

Training tools include, but are not limited to: flat buckle collar, star-mark collar, prong collar, slip lead, e-collar/remote training collar, pet convincer, muzzle, and dominant dog collar. By signing and submitting this form the Client understands that any and all of these tools may be used during the training process and agree to their safety, responsible and educated use.

SAFETY PROTOCOLS:

Any dog in heat, exhibiting symptoms of illness, injury, or any life-threatening or contagious condition (sneezing, coughing, wheezing, runny eyes or nose, vomiting, lethargy, diarrhea, loss of appetite, limping, canine distemper, parvo, , kennel cough, rabies etc.) will be excused from future services until such illness or injury has been remedied.

TIME LIMIT:

All Follow-up Sessions must be completed within 7 days of scheduling.
The “Basic Handlers” Course must be completed within 8 weeks of the scheduling of the First Lesson.
The “Advanced Handlers” Course must be completed within 6 weeks of the scheduling of the First Lesson.
The “My Dog Obeys” Curriculum must be completed within 12 weeks of the scheduling of the First Lesson.
All Virtual Study Halls must be utilized within one week of purchase for Training Sessions and within one week after the final Lesson in the Clients specific “Course” and/or “Curriculum”.

***All Follow-up Sessions, Educational Lessons and Virtual Study Halls not completed within their allotted time frame will be considered Completed and Fulfilled according to this agreement.***

CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULE POLICY:

Appointments must be cancelled a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are not available for Rescheduling and the Appointment Time will be considered Completed and Fulfilled. Failing to call to cancel and not being available for the scheduled appointment is labeled a No Call/No Show and the Appointment Time will be considered Completed and Fulfilled. The Client is allowed 1 Cancellation/Reschedule of an Appointment time slot per every 2 Training Sessions or Educational Lessons scheduled.

TERMINATION:

REYES K-9 ACADEMY shall terminate if:

(a) In the judgment of REYES K-9 ACADEMY a Dog is too dangerous or vicious to any person or animal, or interferes with the training of other dogs.

(b) Client breaches any term or condition of this Agreement.

(d) Client requests service termination. The Client understands that if the Client terminates this agreement, at any time, the duties of REYES K-9 ACADEMY shall terminate but all other provisions of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.

REFUND POLICY:

The Client is asked to please carefully consider their schedule, commitment to training, and dog before enrolling into any “Package”, “Course” and/or “Curriculum”. By enrolling, the Client understands that they are scheduling and reserving multiple time slots for private in-house training, at specific times and dates tailored to the Clients educational program and unique schedule. The Clients commitment to their Educational Program is a must.

NO REFUNDS are issued once Training Sessions, Educational Lessons and Virtual Study Halls have been scheduled, with the following exceptions:

The Dog is unable to continue due to serious injury or illness.
The Dog in no longer in custody of the Client.
The Dog encounters unexpected death.
REYES K-9 ACADEMY deems a refund is appropriate and necessary.

***Refunds will only be issued for Services Not Rendered.***

PHOTO, VIDEO, MEDIA & PUBLICITY RELEASE STATEMENT:

Client grants permission to REYES K-9 ACADEMY; its agents, employees and to any person, company or organization that REYES K-9 ACADEMY may designate or authorize, the right and permissions to take, use, reproduce, distribute, and publish photographs, videos and/or audio recordings made of the client, the clients dog and/or of anyone to whom the client may bring to Sessions/Lessons, and to copyright, use and publish the same in print and/or electronically with or without the clients name and for any lawful purpose without limitation as to time or frequency of use, for any or all of the following purposes:

Release to media including newspapers, television and internet/web content
Educational or instructional purposes
Publicity
REYES K-9 ACADEMY publications, presentations, illustrations, advertising and related uses such as web content (including but not limited to, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram) social media and emails.

CLIENT’S ASSUMPTION OF RISK:

All behavioral advice and training suggestions are provided at the client’s own risk. Use of this information is voluntary and REYES K-9 ACADEMY; its agents, employees and any person, company or organization that REYES K-9 ACADEMY may designate or authorize are not responsible for injury to another human or animal. The client is at all times responsible for the actions of their dog. REYES K-9 ACADEMY; its agents, employees and any person, company or organization that REYES K-9 ACADEMY may designate or authorize are not responsible for any injuries or expenses resulting from socialization or training. Dogs participating in physical exercises may be injured by running, jumping, chasing a ball etc. Client assumes the risk, should the Dog be injured in any manner, including fight or altercation with another dog or animal, or accident, gets fleas, ticks or worms, contracts any illness or disease, be lost or stolen, become pregnant, or engage in any dangerous, vicious or unwanted behavior, during or after the term of the Agreement, on or off the Original Training Premises, or any other location deemed appropriate by either REYES K-9 ACADEMY; its agents, employees and any person, company or organization that REYES K-9 ACADEMY may designate or authorize and/or the Client.

CLIENT’S LIABILITY:

If the Clients Canine causes property damage, bites or injures any dog, animal or person (including but not limited to both REYES K-9 ACADEMY; its agents, employees and any person, company or organization that REYES K-9 ACADEMY may designate or authorize), during or after the term of this Agreement, then Client agrees to pay all resulting losses and damages suffered or incurred, and to defend and indemnify both REYES K-9 ACADEMY; its agents, employees and any person, company or organization that REYES K-9 ACADEMY may designate or authorize from any resulting claims, demands, lawsuits, losses, costs or expenses, including attorney fees.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION:

Client expressly acknowledges and understands that Educational Lessons and Training Sessions will be provided in an environment where certain hazards may exist, including, but not limited to, debris in the training area, other animals and their owners, training equipment, water, and other natural hazards.

Client expressly agrees to indemnify and hold harmless REYES K-9 ACADEMY; its agents, employees and any person, company or organization that REYES K-9 ACADEMY may designate or authorize from any responsibility and/or liability for injuries, conditions, illness, escape or loss of life to the dog that may occur during training and for any resulting injuries, losses, damages, costs or expenses and to pay all losses and damages suffered or incurred, and to defend and indemnify REYES K-9 ACADEMY; its agents, employees and any person, company or organization that REYES K-9 ACADEMY may designate or authorize, from any claims, demands, lawsuits, losses, costs or expenses, including attorney fees, arising out of or in connection with the provision of REYES K-9 ACADEMY services to Client and/or Dog.

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time as expressed through our website and signed client contracts.

REYES K-9 ACADEMY is not responsible for any lost or misplaced dog leashes, harnesses, collars or any other personal belongings.
